God is continuing to move toward expanding His footprint here in Cloudcroft! The Building Team has been meeting during the Coronavirus event using both digital and face to face meetings to organize the church’s efforts to increase our ministry impact on the mountain. This is the second of many updates to inform you on the status of the building project.

Building Design Phase

SMH Architects has begun the design phase of the building project. Over the last few months, Shelley Hughes and her team have been working to finalize designs for the new facility. At our last meeting on April 19th, SMH Architects provided the Building Team with design specifics including aesthetics, code compliance and a proposal for phasing of the construction plan to meet budget constraints and minimize ministry disruption.

Interim Ministry Planning

Because the new building construction is planned on the site of the current facility, alternate meeting locations will be needed for both worship and other community ministries. Shelley and Dan have offered use of a facility which will be a huge benefit in minimizing the impact on our ministries. Flexibility, however, will be a key factor during the construction phase.

Prayer Warriors Unite!

The Building Team has been focused on prayer and seeking God’s guidance from the very outset of this project. We have emphasized the importance of prayer and seeking God’s leading; for unity of the church body; for wisdom in design and development; for answers in the logistics of interim ministries and for fund raising efforts. Building Project Prayer Breakfasts are on hold for the present social distancing restraints but will resume on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 8 am at the church as soon as conditions allow. Corporate prayer allows us to not only petition God for His wisdom but also brings our hearts together in unity as we seek His will and blessing in expanding His reach here on the mountain. Prayer cards are available in the church office. Please take one and place it prominently in your home as a tool to remind you to be in constant prayer for God’s blessing on this project.

Fundraising

No project of this scope happens without effecting funding. While we have zero doubts God will provide exactly what we need, exactly when we need it, we continue seeking the resources He has and will place in our path to move forward with this project. Please be in prayer that God would, even now, be preparing those who will support this project, those who will volunteer their time and gifts and those who will dispense these resources to move ahead with this project.

Building Project Vision Night

The building team and SMH Architects still plan to hold a church wide presentation on May 31st, 2020 @ 6 pm at the church to allow Shelley and her team an opportunity to provide a detailed review of the results of the building design process. Then again, if conditions allow, a Building project Q&A with the Building Team will be held on June 7, 2020 @ 12:30 pm at the church.

If you have questions regarding the status of the building project not addressed here, please contact the church office and one of our team members will follow-up with you to answer your questions. Otherwise, check back here regularly for updates on the project and check the church calendar of upcoming important dates.
